Doing Memory Studies on the Margins: Reflections on Research Practice and Career-Building
Kateřina Králová (Prague), in conversation with Volha Bartash and Tatiana Klepikova (Regensburg)
- Beginning:
- Tuesday, 28 April 2026 14:15
- End:
- 18:00
Kateřina Králová, Head of the Research Center for Memory Studies at Charles University and member of the Network Margins of Memory at the Leibniz ScienceCampus, revisits her work on the Holocaust, the Greek Civil War, post-war reconstruction, and migration in conversation with Volha Bartash and Tatiana Klepikova, the Network's co-speakers. She builds on her research experience – especially, on doing research for her latest monograph, Homecoming: Holocaust Survivors and Greece, 1941–1946 (2025), to reflect on the “recipes of success” as well as lessons from failures she has encountered as a researcher throughout her career. We also address her work in major international academic contexts – from leading research networks and organizing the annual convention of Memory Studies Association in Prague to serving on the ERC Scientific Council to discuss tips for time management and building an international profile.
Organized by Margins of Memory Network with the Leibniz ScienceCampus
