On 16 October 2025 we will welcome Roumen Dashkalov and Diana Mishkova to our Regensburg Research Colloquium. They will give a lecture on "Practicing Transnational History". The lecture will be held in English.

Abstract:
In a joint presentation, Diana Mishkova and Roumen Daskalov will share their hands-on experience and methodological takes in doing transnational history, drawing on the example of two co-edited and co-authored multi-volume works: Entangled Histories of the Balkans (4 vols., Brill, 2013-2017) and Balkan Historiographical Wars (2 vols., Palgrave Macmillan, 2025-2026).

Roumen Daskalov:
Full Professor of Modern History at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia and Recurrent Visiting Professor at the Central European University in Budapest / Vienna.

Diana Mishkova:
Professor of History and Academic Director of the Centre for Advanced Study in Sofia. Throughout October 2025, she is a visiting researcher with the Leibniz ScienceCampus and based at the Graduate School.
