Curriculum Vitae
Born in Flensburg. After studying Eastern Slavic Studies and German Language and Literature in Hamburg he received his PhD in Slavic Philology with the thesis "Grammatik von Referenz und Episodizität". Visiting fellow at the Institute of Linguistics and the Academy of Sciences in St. Petersburg. 2001 habilitation at the University of Hamburg. Lecturer in Slavonic Linguistics and Philology at the University of Cambridge. Since 2001, professor of Slavic Philology at Universität Regensburg.
