Historical Forensics and Historians as Expert Witnesses at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia
The project investigates the place and weight of history at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia. It analyses the historical narratives in delivered oral testimonies and submitted expert reports on historical subjects by historians and social scientists both for the Prosecution and Defence and those finally presented in the Tribunal’s judgements.
Curriculum Vitae
Oleksandr earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in History from the National University of Kyiv-Mohyla Academy; he also received his Interdisciplinary Master’s in East European Research and Studies from the University of Bologna; besides, he spent periods of study at the University of Belgrade and Central European University. Oleksandr’s current research at the Graduate School for East and Southeast European Studies at the University of Regensburg focuses on the role of historical forensic expertise in international criminal justice.
